  • Augmented Reality
  • Emotionserkennung anhand von Sprache und physiologischen Daten
  • Computervision

Praxisrelevante aktuelle Projekte:
  • Augmented Reality In this project we investigate a new form of man-machine communication. The users wear a helmet where a camera and a head mounted display (HMD) is attachted to it. The cameras are detecting markers in the real scene from which the pose of the observer can be determined. As a consequence the system is able to overlap the real environment with virtual objects.
  • The Fugger's virtual sight-seeing tour A virtual sight-seeing tour guided by a virtual Fugger character is going to be developed with co-operation of Regio Augsburg Tourismus GmbH. The idea is to model historical buildings owned by the wealthy Fugger family and to provide a virtual sight-seeing tour that will be available through the Internet in the short term.
  • Galaxias - A Personalized Music Composition System In this project, we develop a perceptual music composition system that aims at the controlled manipulation of a user’s emotional state. In contrast to traditional composing techniques, the single components of a composition, such as melody, harmony, rhythm and instrumentation, are selected and combined in a user-specific manner without requiring the user to continuously provide comments to the music employing input devices, such as keyboard or mouse.
  • SQUINT - An optical Tracking System for VR/AR To enable a wireless interaction with virtual objects in virtual environments a tracking system has been developed which uses stereoscopic vision to track the hand and the head of the user simultaneously. The user performs manipulations of the virtual scene by using a lightweight interaction device for which the pose is determined with 6 degrees of freedom (rotation and translation in 3-d space). On a virtual workbench the user is allowed to move around the three sides of the table and perceives a different perspective of the virtual world like it would be in a real world scenario.
